Black tea is almost completely oxidized tea. It tends to have a stronger flavor than other teas, and it also stays tasty much longer. Black tea is also known as red tea, due to the color of the finished drink.
Black tea is produced in India, China and Africa. It was originally developed in China, but most black tea today comes from Assam and Sri Lanka. For black tea, the top five leaves of the tea plant are usually picked.
Black tea has more caffeine relative to other nutrients than other types of tea. It is best suited as a morning and afternoon drink.
It goes well with strong flavors. For example, licorice, lychee and chocolate are popular spices. The Indian Chai Latte is one of the traditional blends of black tea that many enjoy on a daily basis.
Brew black tea in 90-100 degree water according to your taste, or try it cold-brewed, i.e. iced tea. Put the tea in cold tap water and infuse at room temperature for about half an hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
