Decaffeinated tea from South Africa

Naturally caffeine-free Rooibos has established its place as an evening tea in the homes of many Finns. The wonderfully reddish and slightly sweet nutty herbal tea offers an excellent warm feeling and many other reasons why it would fit into the everyday life of the Finnish people.

The health effects of rooibos are manifold. The stomach-soothing drink contains plenty of antioxidants and has been studied to help the body protect itself from cardiovascular diseases. Rooibos also contributes to the well-being of the skin and hair, so for example, for those suffering from atopic dermatitis, dry skin and allergies, Rooibos acts as an excellent symptom reliever.

In reality, however, Rooibos is not a tea, as it is its own pea plant Aspalathus Linearis and is not related to the tea plant Camellia Sinensis . However, it is very understandable that it is easier to use the word "tea" in the vernacular, even if there is a cup of tea. The correct term for tea-like drinks is therefore brew .

Rooibos is brewed like tea , but unlike tea, it does not contain tannins. That is, Rooibos does not become bitter from too hot water or from a long brewing time. This is why Rooibos also tastes good as iced tea , just ask the mother of the family. You can add milk, herbal drinks and sweetener to taste.

Rooibos has a fine structure, as it is made from the needles of the red bush. We therefore recommend a strainer as dense as possible for rooibos brewing, such as the Forsman Easy tea strainer .
